The aim of this project was to provide 26 beds in a non-acute ward environment for patients who either no longer require the level of care provided in the acute trust, but as yet are not ready to return home, or for patients who require a ‘stepup’ bed from their current location to avoid an admission to an acute trust.
The space used to provide this new facility was an empty obsolete isolation ward which was stripped back to the building shell, prior to refurbishment.
