BPG Architects + Surveyors are seeking an enthusiastic graduate to get their career started by joining our busy team of Architects and Surveyors at our town centre office in Dorking, Surrey.

This role will involve working closely with other members of the Building Surveying team, gaining a wide range of experience on professional instructions and construction projects within all sectors. The candidate will be expected to work/assist colleagues on projects at all stages of the design and construction process, from feasibility through to construction.

The ideal candidate will have recently graduated with an RICS accredited degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent qualification in a related construction field) and looking to begin their career as a Building Surveyor. They will also have excellent communication skills and a true desire to learn their craft and develop into a professional within the wider Construction Industry.

Key Requirements:

• RICS accredited degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related field.
• Looking to begin your APC.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and AutoCAD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, hard-working with a willingness to learn.
• Must be a UK resident and able to commute safely to and from our office and building sites in your own vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and assist colleagues on multiple projects.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with site/condition surveys
• Managing varied projects with senior colleagues
• Attending building sites and monitoring progress
• Assisting with party wall instructions
• Preparation of planning and building control applications
• Liaising with clients and contractors
• Preparation of AutoCAD drawings
• Carrying out administrative tasks

Our office is located in the historic Old Kings Head Court which dates from the 16th Century and is located in the heart of Dorking town centre.  Our characterful office provides a conducive working environment, with Dorking’s town centre and three railway stations all within a 15 minute walk. 

We have a diverse workload of new build projects, cladding remedial works and refurbishment projects with construction values of £1m-£20million. As a practice we are signatories of the Architects Declare movement and intend to embrace the RIBA 2030 Challenge to achieve net zero carbon emissions in our design approach.

BPG Architects + Surveyors are seeking an enthusiastic Architect to join our team of Architects and Surveyors in our central Dorking office.

We are looking for a driven team player who has good knowledge of UK building regulations, technical design skills and familiarity with the planning process to further develop their career.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to prioritise tasks as well as work both unsupervised and as part of a team. They will be expected to work/assist at all stages of the design and construction process including contract administration. Eligibility to work immediately/reside in the UK is essential. Good knowledge of Revit is essential.

This role is best suited to a recently qualified ARB registered architect (up to 5 years experience) who is an independent worker of a resourceful nature, punctual and happy to assist their colleagues on multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be attentive to their own work and willing to adapt to our in house processes and naming conventions. Interest in sustainability and innovative design is an advantage.

Key Requirements:

• Motivation and passion with very good understanding of construction detailing and construction methods. Experience in specification writing (NBS) will be advantageous together with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent command of Autodesk REVIT is essential together with 2D drawing skills (Autocad).

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing feasibility reports.
• Design & access statements and planning submissions.
• Building regulations submissions, tender packages & preparation of construction issue information.
• Liaising with clients, planning officers, building control inspectors and contractors.
• Administrative and technical tasks.
• Job running.
• Good knowledge of current building regulations and experience in specification writing.
• Be able to commute safely to and from our office and building sites in your own vehicle.

BPG Architects + Surveyors are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic part II, to join our busy team of Architects and Surveyors in our central Dorking office.

We are looking for a driven team player who has strong knowledge of UK building regulations, good technical design skills and familiarity with the planning process. Previous experience in the daily running of projects will be advantageous coupled with the ability to manage workloads to meet key milestones of project programmes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to prioritise tasks and site queries as required.

Good knowledge of Revit is essential (knowledge of other Autodesk products and the BIM process is also an advantage). This role is best suited to independent workers of a resourceful nature who are punctual and happy to assist their colleagues. The ideal candidate will be capable of checking their own work and willing to adapt to our in house processes and naming conventions. Interest in sustainability and innovative design is a plus as the role will offer an excellent opportunity to learn about the industry developments from our experienced sustainability champion. 

Key Requirements:

• Relevant RIBA Part II certified qualification
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Experience within the residential, educational and commercial sectors would be beneficial.
• Excellent 3D digital modelling skills are a must, experience of Autodesk suite software such as Revit is essential.
• Good understanding of planning and UK building regulations.
• Willingness to learn, work hard and be flexible.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
• Must be UK resident and able to commute safely to and from our office in Dorking, Surrey and building sites in your own vehicle or on public transport.
• Enthusiastic about sustainable design.
• Experience of running projects extremely beneficial.
