About Us
Designing well and getting the details right – since 1988
BPG Architects + Surveyors is a multidisciplinary practice of Architectural Technologists, Architects and Surveyors, based in the heart of Central Dorking. For more than 30 years, we have worked across almost every area of the built environment – from masterplanning and major new developments to bespoke homes, sensitive retrofit and the investigation of a single building defect.
Whatever the size of the project, we give it the same commitment. A small building survey matters just as much to us as a multi-million-pound architectural commission, because to our clients it is the project that matters most.
One team, under one roof
Having architects, technologists and surveyors working side by side means our clients benefit from joined-up thinking at every stage. Our surveyors understand how buildings are designed; our architects understand how buildings age, perform and fail. That combined knowledge is particularly valuable when working with existing buildings – an area where we have built real depth of expertise, from façade remediation to retrofit and refurbishment.
Who we work with
Our clients include private individuals, private developers, housing providers, local and public authorities, schools and health trusts. Our work spans residential, healthcare, education and public sector projects across Surrey, London and the South East.
Rooted in Dorking
We chose Dorking as our home for its character, its history and its excellent links to London and the wider South East. Fittingly for a practice of architects and surveyors, our studio sits within a sixteenth-century building full of timber beams and posts – a daily reminder of how well-made buildings can stand the test of time.
Our standards
We are proud to be a RIBA Chartered Practice and RICS-regulated firm, members of the Passivhaus Trust, CHAS accredited, and certified to ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environmental management). We take our responsibilities seriously – to our clients, to the communities we build in, and to the environment.
Our people
We invest properly in our team, supporting ongoing professional development and registration, and we’re proud of a studio culture that celebrates talent at every stage of a career – from Part 1 assistants to senior architects and directors.
